60http://blog.erikbohlin.comen Erik Bohlin MA LMHCErik Bohlin MA LMHCmail@erikbohlin.netnohttp://blog.erikbohlin.com/2007/03/11/we-read-to-remind-us-that-we-are-not-alone.aspxErik Bohlin MA LMHCWe read to remind us that we are not alone.&nbsp; Too many of us find ourselves alone.&nbsp; If we do have family, do we really tell them how much we are.&nbsp; Are we not afraid of being too sentimental, to emotional or too vulnerable?&nbsp; The reality is we were created for relationship.&nbsp; We were created for a relationship with God.&nbsp; For His good pleasure.&nbsp; We might even be living a Christian life so that we can avoid hell and attain heaven.&nbsp;&nbsp; But this would still be missing the mark.<BR><BR>Each one of us, it has been said has this empty vacuum inside of us.&nbsp; It longs for connection.&nbsp; It longs for God, even though we don't realize it.&nbsp; We fill it with stuff, with achievement.&nbsp; We fill it with busy-ness.&nbsp; We fill it with entertainment and pleasure.&nbsp; But it does not work.&nbsp; We were made for connection with God.&nbsp; <BR><BR>The end result is that we are alone.&nbsp; When we find ourselves alone, we can begin to look for God.&nbsp; Or rather, He comes looking for us.&nbsp; He is close to the broken hearted.&nbsp; He is close to the suffering.&nbsp;&nbsp; So what do we do?<BR>We search for God.&nbsp; We must to this wholeheartedly for God will not share Himself with the half-hearted for He is a jealous God.&nbsp; This is how it works.&nbsp; Let us not seek what He can provide, but God, Himself.&nbsp; Let us love and serve Him even thought we may gain nothing.&nbsp; Why?&nbsp; Because it is God Who has created us and not we ourselves.&nbsp; Christ did not love us to gain anything.&nbsp; But do we fill the ache in our hearts.&nbsp; It will be filled with we seek only Him.Communityhttp://blog.erikbohlin.com/2007/03/11/we-read-to-remind-us-that-we-are-not-alone.aspx#Comments86a66e14-dea9-4a4a-bc42-7d03e44afd0dSun, 11 Mar 2007 22:30:39 GMT
