﻿<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd" xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" version="2.0"><channel><ttl>60</ttl><title>Erik Bohlin, Counselor</title><link>http://blog.erikbohlin.com</link><language>en</language><copyright /><itunes:subtitle> </itunes:subtitle><itunes:author>Erik Bohlin MA LMHC</itunes:author><itunes:summary /><description /><itunes:owner><itunes:name>Erik Bohlin MA LMHC</itunes:name><itunes:email>mail@erikbohlin.net</itunes:email></itunes:owner><itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit><itunes:category text="Arts" /><item><title>We read to remind us that we are not alone</title><link>http://blog.erikbohlin.com/2007/03/11/we-read-to-remind-us-that-we-are-not-alone.aspx</link><dc:creator>Erik Bohlin MA LMHC</dc:creator><description>We read to remind us that we are not alone.&amp;nbsp; Too many of us find ourselves alone.&amp;nbsp; If we do have family, do we really tell them how much we are.&amp;nbsp; Are we not afraid of being too sentimental, to emotional or too vulnerable?&amp;nbsp; The reality is we were created for relationship.&amp;nbsp; We were created for a relationship with God.&amp;nbsp; For His good pleasure.&amp;nbsp; We might even be living a Christian life so that we can avoid hell and attain heaven.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; But this would still be missing the mark.&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Each one of us, it has been said has this empty vacuum inside of us.&amp;nbsp; It longs for connection.&amp;nbsp; It longs for God, even though we don't realize it.&amp;nbsp; We fill it with stuff, with achievement.&amp;nbsp; We fill it with busy-ness.&amp;nbsp; We fill it with entertainment and pleasure.&amp;nbsp; But it does not work.&amp;nbsp; We were made for connection with God.&amp;nbsp; &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;The end result is that we are alone.&amp;nbsp; When we find ourselves alone, we can begin to look for God.&amp;nbsp; Or rather, He comes looking for us.&amp;nbsp; He is close to the broken hearted.&amp;nbsp; He is close to the suffering.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; So what do we do?&lt;BR&gt;We search for God.&amp;nbsp; We must to this wholeheartedly for God will not share Himself with the half-hearted for He is a jealous God.&amp;nbsp; This is how it works.&amp;nbsp; Let us not seek what He can provide, but God, Himself.&amp;nbsp; Let us love and serve Him even thought we may gain nothing.&amp;nbsp; Why?&amp;nbsp; Because it is God Who has created us and not we ourselves.&amp;nbsp; Christ did not love us to gain anything.&amp;nbsp; But do we fill the ache in our hearts.&amp;nbsp; It will be filled with we seek only Him.</description><category>Community</category><comments>http://blog.erikbohlin.com/2007/03/11/we-read-to-remind-us-that-we-are-not-alone.aspx#Comments</comments><guid isPermaLink="false">86a66e14-dea9-4a4a-bc42-7d03e44afd0d</guid><pubDate>Sun, 11 Mar 2007 22:30:39 GMT</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
